just saw this fab series of pop-up books by daisy lew. each spread is inspired by a particular nyc icon —the big apple, the chrysler building (above), yellow cab or the statue of liberty when viewed from above, while it also represents the cityscape itself from the side view.

if u, by chance, happen to be in toronto these days, then make sure not to miss this one! “back to nature”, the power plant’s summer group exhibition highlights interspecies encounters & poses questions such as: what happens when humans, animals and the natural world meet?, what forms of communication, miscommunication, intimacy, and exchange ensue? great selection of artists, incl. allora & calzadilla, francis alÿs, cory arcangel, john bock, olaf breuning (pic of his 'mammooth' above & make sure to visit his ab fab website!) or shaun gladwell.

and hey, while heading to the power plant, u might as well stumble upon some pieces from the toronto street advertising takeover!
