(W) TRAVEL GRANTS: CANADIAN WRITERS

There are no deadlines for these grants, but applications must be submitted prior to applicants’ date of departure. Applicants are advised to submit their request three months ahead of time if they wish to have the results before their departure date.
Travel Grants enable writers, translators, spoken word artists and storytellers (individuals) to respond to invitations that are important to their artistic development and career, such as:
• being a keynote speaker at an international conference or convention
• participating in a large international festival
• being the guest of honour at an important book fair
• receiving official international honours or prizes
• attending a book launch by a foreign publisher
• attending a residency in an artist colony.

(W) TRAVEL GRANTS: CANADIAN ARTISTS

The Visual Arts Section of the Canada Council for the Arts provides a range of grants to recognize and support the independent creative work of professional Canadian artists of all cultures. These grants are intended for artists and independent critics and curators working in the following art forms: visual arts including fine craft and architecture. Travel Grants to Professionals in the Visual Arts contribute toward expenses incurred to travel to an event important to the artist’s, critic’s or curator’s career.Three categories of support are provided under this program: Presentation Travel, Travel to Artists’ Residencies and Research-Rrelated Travel.
