Bulletin From Britain

And now for something completely different yet very topical from our England-based brother in arms:

"I can totally understand the urge to burn everything down and steal what you can. These are not a reboot of 80's riots these are the birth pangs of a new order of ghetto no go areas of millions of economically cleansed and green zone paramilitary protected rich enclaves. The Olympics, as in China, are the medal for achieving this, absolute lockdown level security to produce a glittering mask over a maggot eaten skull of societal failure. It's odd people think disaffection would not manifest as looting after decades of intense consumer culture and a retreat of the political process to irrelevance for most people. We are reaping what we sowed but still living in denial."

Banksy on Channel 4: The Antics Roadshow

Banksy's incomplete guide to total anarchy provides a greatest hits of wayward behavior, sedition and sabotage - can be seen this Sat at 10:45 PM on Channel 4.

"An hour-long special produced by Banksy charting the history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics.

Contributors include Michael Fagan talking about breaking into the Queen's bedroom: 'I looked into her eyes, they were dark'; and Noel Godin, who pioneered attacking celebrities with custard pies: 'Instead of a bullet I give them a cake'.

Explaining his reasoning behind the show, Banksy said: 'Basically I just thought it was a good name for a TV programme and I've been working back from there'.

Narrated by Kathy Burke and produced by Jamie D'cruz, The Antics Roadshow examines the stories behind some of the most audacious stunts of recent times and what motivates the perpetrators, from mindless boredom to heartfelt political beliefs.

It includes a world exclusive first interview with the man responsible for putting the turf Mohican on Winston Churchill's head."

Showtime: Olek goes stylish b/w, aka fluo is so 2010!

The place to be tonight is Jonathan Levine gallery on the Lower East Side for the opening reception of Olek's latest show.

The Bad Artists Imitate, The Great Artists Steal is Olek's first solo in the gallery, presenting site-specific installation of brand new crocheted universe. The title of the exhibition refers to a piece of Banksy, in which he carved the quote - originally by Pablo Picasso - into stone, crossed out the late artist's name and replaced it with his own.

And now a big surprise: rather than the fluorescent palette typical of Olek's previous work, her new "babies" are all featured in a cool grey-scale camouflage pattern. Next to several 3-dimensional pieces, Olek will also present her branded "crocheted paintings" featuring quotes such as Marylin Monroe's If I go down on my knees it is not to pray.

The presence of celebrities is guaranteed, especially since According 2G has confirmed he was attending :-). So better don't miss it!
