the new york based artist don porcella uses woven pipe cleaner to create wonderfully absurd installations like the one above: headphones are usually intended for keeping out the noise, but in this case they are keeping the sound in - the listener will experience the sound of the chainsaw only when they put the headphones on. don created the sound with his own voice, making an audio recording of the chainsaw sound. don recently exhibited this & other pieces @ claire oliver, a truly fantastic show which will not be quickly forgotten!
