even though the snow might still be falling down heavily in nyc, the spirit of spring is already in the air: last week 38 roses, over 7m high, have blossomed from the ground along park avenue, between 57th & 67th streets. they are accompanied by 20 individual rose petals, scattered between 63rd & 65th streets. a site-specific installation of artist will ryman, presented by paul kasmin gallery, will stay on display till the end of may. our favorite blossom, above, features a giant bumblebee on its top :-).
