(ALL) Artist in residence stipends—Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen Foundation Fellowships—Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen Foundation, Germany Guiding principle of Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen Foundation is to support writers, visual artists, artists in the field of new media and and interdisciplinary projects as well as composers by the way of artist in residence stays in the Foundation Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen (NRW, Germany) accomodation.

These stays go along with monthly stipends and can last as long as four months in total. The fellows can work highly focused during this period of time in the Foundation Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen (NRW, Germany) studios, apartments and flats on their respective art, book or score projects. With in total 14 fellows being on site at the same time and coming from different sectors of work a comprehensive and inspired exchange of ideas takes place. Application for the artist in residence stays is internationally open. There is no limit of age existent.

Grants: Grants for visual arts, new media art, interdisciplinary projects, literature and composition will be awarded each year. Different juries of experts decide on the incoming applications. Deadline for applications is 15th of September of the current year. The monthly stipend amounts to 1025,- Euros. An amount for the operating expenses of the apartments or studios of about 100,- to 200,- Euros has to be payed of this. There is an obligation to spend the artist in residence stay on place.

Facilities:

The studios and apartments of the artist village Schöppingen are in two completely renovated farmhouses dating from the early 19th century. A total of eight apartments for authors and new media artists and six studios for visual artists is available. There are a gallery space and a wood/metall workshop available.

MoTA is the first Artist in Residency program in Ljubljana for media, sound or visual artists, who can live and work in the capital of Slovenia for a period of one month. MoTA accepts applications for production residencies for artists interested in transitory art. MoTA offers the opportunity to produce and exhibit art projects which research and experiment with: -transitions in space and time, transitions in legal, moral, ethical, political positions, transitions of digital into analog world.

Artists selected through this open call are offered full production support and a public showing of the work produced according to the nature of the project.During the residency, a public presentation of the artist is required. Through residencies and conferences, the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, in Northern Italy, supports innovations that change the way we solve global problems. Here people of diverse expertise and backgrounds come together in a thought-provoking, creative, collegial environment that helps create change on a wide range of world issues.

The Residency Program allows for one-month of focused work, uninterrupted by the professional and personal demands of daily life, in a diverse and stimulating community of fellow residents. Residents include an international cohort of scholars, writers, artists, scientists, journalists, non-governmental organization practitioners and policymakers. In addition to time for work on creative projects, writing, or reflection during the day, building new connections and collegial interaction with other residents is an integral dimension of the Bellagio experience. Meals and informal presentations of residents' work afford an opportunity for dynamic discussion and engagement with each other. The combination of quiet time for individual, focused work and connections with such a diverse cohort is unparalleled.

Yes, I’ve been running around different towns reading from my book, The Memory Palace, and also doing a lot of radio shows. Therefore, I have neglected thee. (PHOTOGRAPHERS & ARTISTS) OSU Post-MFA Fellowships—The Department of Art at Ohio State University is offering 2 Post-MFA Fellowships in 2011-12. One fellowship will be focused in Photography. Another fellowship is available and open to artists working in all mediums. These fellowships include an $18,000 stipend to support the individual while in residence at OSU. Additional remuneration is possible through adjunct teaching assignments, based on program need. 24-hour access to studio space, opportunities to collaborate with other centers, and borrowing privileges from the campus libraries. The Studio Center provides 4-12 week studio residencies on an historic 30-building campus along the Gihon River in Johnson, Vermont, a village in the heart of the northern Green Mountains.

(CA ARTISTS) The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) Grants Program—Provides grants up to $15,000 to individual artists in California for the acquisition of arts equipment and materials or towards presentation and marketing of their creative work. The Investing in Artists grants program is designed to enhance the working lives and creative environment for California artists by funding tools and market strategies that will allow them to create their best work more consistently, and distribute that work more broadly to new audiences.

Investing in Artists provides grants in two funding categories:

1) Grants for Artistic Equipment and Tools, and 2) Grants for Presenting and Marketing Work. Through a competitive application process conducted over three initial rounds of funding, a combination of planning grants up to $5,000 each, and implementation grants up to $15,000 each, have been awarded to California artists over a 14-month period. (ARTISTS & PERFORMERS) Looking for Artists/Performers to live and work in Central America—Immediate Opportunity to Use Your Talents for Social Change: ArtCorps seeks performing or visual artist to work with our newest partner organization, CARE, in Honduras in 2011. ArtCorps is a unique opportunity for artists to receive training in Art for Social Action, gain valuable experience in sustainable development and contribute to grassroots change in Central America.

(ALL) Bogliasco Fellowships—Fellowships at the Bogliasco Study Center in Luguria, Italy are awarded, without regard to nationality, to qualified persons doing advanced creative work or scholarly research in the following disciplines: archaeology, architecture, classics, dance, film or video, history, landscape architecture, literature, music, philosophy, theatre, visual arts in the arts.

Applicants for Fellowships are expected to demonstrate significant achievement in their disciplines, commensurate with their age and experience. In addition, they must submit descriptions of the projects that they intend to pursue in Bogliasco. An approved project is presumed to lead to the completion of an artistic, literary, or scholarly work, followed by publication, performance, exhibition, or other public presentation.

(ALL) Byrdcliffe Art Colony Residencies—The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild offers month long Artist in Residence (AIR) opportunities for visual artists, composers, playwrights/screenwriters, and writers of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Longer residencies are available for ceramic artists. The AIR sessions generally occur during the months of June, July, August, and September. Our goal is to provide solitude in a community and uninterrupted time in which to concentrate on creative work alongside fellow artists. Greetings everyone...Lately I've been getting quite a lot of requests from individuals from places as far away as India and Iran, asking if I know of any scholarship money for art and writing students to attend graduate school in the U.S. Unfortunately, this is an area I know little about but if I find something, I will certainly post it. (ALL) Residencies for Scholars and Creative Artists—The Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center: Residencies allow for disciplined work uninterrupted by the usual professional and personal demands. Residency participants include scholars, scientists, artists, journalists, writers, non-governmental organization practitioners and policymakers from around the world. Collegial interaction with the other residents is an integral dimension of the Bellagio experience. Meals and informal presentations of residents’ work afford an opportunity for dynamic discussion and engagement with each other. During special dinners, residents may be able to interact with participants in international conferences hosted in various buildings on the Center’s property. The Center also offers collaborative residencies for two to four persons working on the same project. Creative artists in all fields and scholars in all disciplines from any country are welcome to apply. A residency is typically four weeks in length. (ARTISTS) Henry Moore Foundation Artist Fellowships and Grants: The Foundation awards grants worth up to £6,000 each to artist, supported by host institutions, for fellowships or residencies between 2-6 months. Joint applications may be made at any time and the number of fellowships awarded will depend on the resources available in any year.

The Henry Moore Foundation also offers other grants to visual artists—The Foundation’s grants program is focused on specific objectives. It is the Trustees’ policy to support all aspects of the arts in which Henry Moore himself was engaged, e.g. sculpture, drawing and print-making. Projects in the UK may include the work of artists from any country. Overseas projects must contain a British component, e.g. a British artist. (New projects grants: This includes exhibitions, exhibition catalogues and commissions. (COMPOSERS) soundSCAPE Fellowship in Italy: In 2010 soundSCAPE will be held on Lake Maggiore in the Italian Alps, just minutes from international borders of France and Switzerland. Festival dates are 14 - 25, July, 2010. The festival now known as soundSCAPE debuted in 2005 as an initiative to bring together composers and performers interested in new music. soundSCAPE is now accepting proposals for a composer in residence for the 2010 summer season. The fellowship involves: the composition of one work for faculty ensemble (piano, soprano, & percussion); the possibility of additional performances of other compositions; mentoring composer participants at festival (lessons, master classes); one or more lectures; opportunities to perform (if applicable). soundSCAPE provides round trip travel (airfare/train), accommodation, meals.

(ARTISTS) Fonds BKVB Grants: Fonds BKVB in the Netherlands has a wide variety of grants for Dutch nationals and International artists living in the Netherlands who have legal residency: A basic stipend intends to enable visual artists and autonomous designers to maintain a basic level of professional practice. A basic stipend (€ 36.000) consists of a contribution to basic living costs (€ 21.000) and a contribution to professional expenses (€15.000). Only visual artists and autonomous designers who have been professionally active for longer than eight years are eligible for a basic stipend. A basic stipend is intended to cover a period of at least two years. This stipend can be awarded only once every four years. (ALL) Step-Beyond Travel Grants: Mobility is the life-blood of cultural cooperation. Artists and cultural workers need to move easily across borders to meet their international peers, exchange views, cooperate, and influence one another. ECF's mobility programme is called STEP beyond. Their mobility fund stimulates and supports cross-cultural creative projects in a wider Europe, enabling artists and cultural workers to collaborate, exchange, network and explore unfamiliar ground and different ways of working.

Who can apply? Individual artists, cultural operators, cultural researchers and cultural writers (art critics and cultural journalists, etc) travelling to/from EU countries to/from the European Neighbourhood. In collaboration with the Arts and Culture Network Programme of the Open Society Institute, ECF's STEP beyond also supports travel to/from the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia) as well as Turkey. (FILMMAKERS) The All Roads Film Project Grants: The All Roads Film Project is a National Geographic program dedicated to providing a platform for indigenous and underrepresented minority-culture storytellers around the world to showcase their works to promote knowledge, dialogue, and understanding with a broader, global audience.

The seed-grant program is open to indigenous and underrepresented minority-culture filmmakers as well as filmmakers who can demonstrate that they have been designated by indigenous or minority communities to tell their story. Grant funds should be used toward the development and production of a feature film, long documentary, short documentary, shorts, animation, or music video. Funding may be used for equipment, travel for field research, editing time, etc. All Roads Film Project Seed Grants range up to a maximum of $10,000. (POETS) Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowships: Five Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowships in the amount of $15,000 are available to poets between the ages of 21 and 31. (ALL) Le Ville Matte Residency Program in Sardinia, Italy: International call for the residency program in Cagliari, Sardenia, Italy. The program for visual artists will take place in Sardinia from 14 April to 15 May 2010 in Villasor, a town a few kilometers from Cagliari. This initiative is part of LE VILLE MATTE – artist residencies, a wider project promoted by the Province of Cagliari, through the Cultural Policy Office, with the purpose of offering artistic study and research residencies in Sardinia, stimulating new productions in the field of music, writing and visual arts. The call is open to artists from all over the world, with no age limit (but the applicants must be over eighteen). Deadline for visual artists: February 28th, 2010!

Participation in the residency program is free, and includes the following services: a studio with internet connection; open space area for group activity; town library and multimedia library for documentation; production expenses managed by the visiting professor on the basis of each artist's requirements. (ARTISTS) Polymer International Artist-in-Residency Program in Estonia: Culture Factory Polymer, a multidisciplinary cultural center in Tallinn, Estonia, situated in an old toy factory, is now accepting proposals for it’s international artist in residency program. (ARTISTS) Abbey Painting Awards: The Abbey Scholarship and Abbey Fellowships offer all-expenses-paid, residencies at the British School in Rome in superb modern studios, with a stipend of up to £500 a month for the Scholar and £700 for Fellows. The nine-month Abbey Scholarship is usually given to an emergent painter, while the three-month Abbey Fellowships are awarded to mid-career painters. Abbey Awards are open to people of UK and US nationality, and to citizens of other countries provided that they have lived in the UK or the US for at least five years. (ALL) The Arctic Circle Program Residency: The Arctic Circle program seeks applications from international contemporary artists of all disciplines, architects, scientists and educators alike. Program Outline: The Arctic Circle is a series of artist and scientist-led expeditions to remote and fascinating destinations aboard a specially outfitted scientific-research sailing vessel. Their expeditions are followed by an international exhibit schedule. Participants travel on an ice-class, traditionally rigged sailing vessel into the High Arctic during October. (PRINTMAKERS) Chhaap Printmaking Residency in India: Chhaap's Baroda printmaking workshop was set up in 1999 by three artists to do their own work and also to create printmaking facilities available to others. Chhaap also offers a short-term Artist-in-Residence program between September to March for one week to one month. Artists can stay in a studio which has two etching presses, a hotplate and aquatint box. There is also a guest room with attached bathroom and kitchen. Chhaap accepts applications all year round.
