gelitin

gelitin (formerly know as gelatin) is an art collective of 4 from vienna, austria who met first in 1978, when they all attended a summercamp. since then they have been playing and working together, and as of 1993 they began exhibiting internationally. their practice, which consists largely of performances, installations and interventions, varies widely in scale and ambition, but is always characterized by a cheekily subversive wit, often involving members of the public. their best-known work to date is hase (rabbit), a 55-metre pink knitted bunny installed on a hill in tuscany. slowly decaying, it is to be left in situ until 2025.
gelitin is represented by, amongs others, galerie emmanuel perrotin in paris.
