lisa in wonderland

deriving from many different photographs, self-taken as well as acquired, lisa adams paints small-scaled enigmatic scenes as a challenge to understand and to communicate her reality. the often quirky imagery can be seen as a veiled attempt at discussing more serious subject matters; their interpretation often revealing as much about our own view on love, fear, expectation... as the one of the artist. self-portrait & images from the australian nature are a recurring theme of her dream-like settings (lisa lives and works on a 15 acre native bush property in the sunshine coast hinterland with her husband, fellow artist kim guthrie).
you can read an interview with lisa about her last show @ philip bacon galleries, brisbane.
