once again this year, the berlinale is drawing a great many filmmakers and cineastes to berlin. in parallel and by now an insiders’ tip, the directors lounge, developed by berlin artists, is hosting for the 7th year in a row its own very special kind of film festival, so make sure to get to meinblau, pfefferberg in berlin mitte by 8pm tonight to see the opening mix of films!
to our great joy, the opening night will also feature 'love is in the air', a happy famous artists' trailer for our new project, entitled 'leadership dating'. we're happy to be a part of it & sad that we can't make it to berlin this time to present our short movie in person.
the dl team has prepared a great program, which will show films daily from 6pm till dawn till sun 20 feb. many national and international artists will be on hand in person to present their piece, amongst others the british composer michael nyman (author of music for the piano as well as for numerous peter greenaway ventures) & guy maddin (canadian filmmaker and juror at this year’s berlinale).

Happy Famous Artists have identified a space in which dictators of taste, religion, business, fashion, art, etc. meet, chat and seduce each other. But this is not dating as we know it, as theirs are post human needs with superior appetites which we cannot understand. Leadership Dating, an invitation-only website, is the expression of this phenomena.
Three threads of narrative, some more fictitious than others, weave throughout the trailer:
the artists recount initial contact and creation of the dating site; remote interjections from the mysterious arch manipulator who engaged HFA to create the “Leadership Dating” website; and promotional clips and short profile excerpts of the Great and the Good.
